Nokia E55 Review
I just saw the Nokia E55
online and it looks like a really good option for people who spend a lot of time messaging or emailing from their phones. The E55 supports EGPRS, WCDMA, HSDPA/HSUPA (3.5G) and WLAN impressive connectivity for a phone so small. It is a mere 116.5 x 49 x 9.9 mm, pretty sleek looking in its steel grey color.
The Nokia E55 has a compact QWERTY keyboard that makes it easier to type out long messages and emails. It also has a predictive engine that completes words for you, and that automatically includes new words. The screen can also be switched to landscape mode to make emailing easier.
The official product page is fully compatible with Ovi services, which means that as a user you can access Ovi Maps and GPS services. The phone also has N-Gage installed, for a little bit of extra fun! The phone supports a wide range of document formats – Excel, PDF, Powerpoint, Word, so you can use the attachment function for emails and also view and change documents right on your phone.
If you prefer to just make a phone call rather than use the messaging convenience, then you won’t be disappointed with the pay as you go
phone. I features a new noise cancellation technology that cuts out ambient sounds to make your conversation clearer and sharper. A great feature for cellphones, especially if you’re already pushing the limits of your network area.
The 2048 x 1536 camera has a 4 times digital zoom, auto exposure, extended depth of field, fullscreen viewfinder, red-eye reduction, self timer, and sequence mode. Quite a package for a phone that is primarily being marketed as a messaging phone. The Nokia E55 can also play over 10 audio formats, including WAV and M4A formats. It has dedicated camera keys and dedicated volume keys as well.
I would recommend the phone simply because it is made my Nokia, and they make the best phones in the industry. Take a look at the features for yourself, and if you can find a more capable phone, that looks as great and is so simple to navigate, then let me know.
