Since the launch of the hugely successful car navigation systems, phone companies have tried to start introducing phone navigation systems onto mobile phones. While some have succeeded many have failed. The programs are useless with very little sense of direction, with unhelpful and uncoordinated directions from the on board speaker. The new Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition however manages to combine all the elements you would want in a satellite navigation system into one stylish and small phone. The phone comes with Nokia maps preloaded, so you literally just have to touch a button and it appears. You then simply set your location you want to go to and your start position, and you automatically get directions to your destination. The directions are step by step, meaning you are told every single detail you need to know, such as when to turn, when to brake and slow down. However, if this annoys you then you can turn off some of the features to allow you a more peaceful drive.

The phone also comes with many free bonuses. The main one of these is the 2GB memory card, which allows you to store additional maps on, particularly the ones you may use abroad. You can also store pictures, music and videos on there, either to listen or watch on your phone, or ones that you have captured on your phone and want to transfer to a computer at a later date.

If you want one of these seemingly perfect phones then you will have to wait a while. Due for release in the second quarter of 2010 the phones are going to be launched in developing countries first, but are expected to come over to Europe and America soon after.
